Slough Indoor Tennis courts to close

March 25th, 2010

I was saddened to read on the BBC news website that Slough’s indoor tennis courts are to make way for … a bowling alley.

Indoor tennis courts are a scarce resource as it is, and those that do exist provide all year round sporting activity for players of all ages. ¬†According to the council, the courts were losing ¬£30,000 a year and have offered free coaching instead on outdoor courts, which is a very nice idea… unless it’s raining.

It’s sad to see such a backward looking move from Slough council.

Welcome to IndoorTennis.co.uk

January 17th, 2010

IndoorTennis.co.uk is a brand new website which aims to list all of the indoor tennis facilities in the UK.

With unpredictable weather conditions becoming quite common recently, we thought a new resource dedicated to listing all of the indoor tennis courts in the UK could be a website for tennis players.

If you’re here to find your nearest indoor tennis court, you can get started by clicking here.

If you would like to add a new tennis court to the site, please email the details to rob@indoortennis.co.uk
